Make a Rose Quartz and Pearl Necklace by Stringing Beads

rose quartz necklace
For this bead project we used Soft Flex beading wire and cut a piece approx. 21 inches long and laid this on a bead board. We started stringing from the middle. You may find this is an easier way to string your bead because you can pick up both ends of the bead wire at any point to be sure that both sides are even.  Also, this will allow you to make length adjustments to your jewelry designs.  If you begin stringing one side of a necklace and finish the piece, only to find that you wish you had made the piece a few inches longer, you're stuck.  For this reason alone, owning a bead board is well worth it.

Slide 3 black Czech glass pearl beads (10mm) surrounded by sterling silver bead caps.  Hematite, Montana and Eggplant colored pearls will also work well. Then string 3 Rose Quartz rondells, 6mm Swarovski bicones (crystal and black diamond) followed by 3 more Rose Quartz rondells.  These should be separated by 3 x 4mm Bali sterling silver spacer beads. This should be done on both sides of the necklace.

Follow this up with 8mm pearl beads in the same color that you chose for the 10mm pearls, followed by a large sterling silver bead - surround this bead with the small spacer bead on each side to give it balance.

Then begin string on both sides the desired amount of Rose Quartz chip beads.  If the beading wire appears to show in gaps between the chips, slide the beads down tighter on the wire and these gaps will close up.  Keep this in mind when attaching your toggle clasp and crimping your wire. If the wire shows through in gaps between the gemstone chips, your necklace won't look professional.

Once you've achieved your desired length you can attach your toggle clasp using crimp beads.  If you don't know how to use crimp tubes, please refer to beading project 1. We recommend that you use crimp covers to give a polished look to your necklace.
