Make a bauble bracelet

The first step in making this bracelet is to assemble the chain. The example is 7 3/4" including the lobster clasp and there are 34 beads attached. Adjust the size and number of beads to accommodate your ideal bracelet.

This project requires 3 packages of the Large Plated Pewter Jump Rings. You'll need to open and close each jump to attach them since none of these are offered as closed jump rings. If you look at the photo to the left, you'll see that the chain is a 1 x 2 (jump rings) link chain. So, you'll attach 1 jump ring to 2 closed jump rings. You'll then attach 2 jump rings to the 1 jump ring that you've just closed. This is you chain pattern. Attach the lobster clasp or a toggle clasp to finish the chain.

Using head pins, secure the beads by sliding the bead/beads onto the shaft of the pin. Then, create a loop using Round Nose Pliers and wrap the remaining wire under the loop - this secures the loop and beads - then trim the excess wire. Be sure that the end of the wire tucks neatly under the base of the loop. After you've finished this, attach the beads with the oval jump rings.

A note about the design - we used Silver plated beads, Sterling Silver beads, and White pearl beads, with Rhodium Plated Jump Rings. We used Antique Silver Plated Bead Caps and Small Silver beads to tie into the Rhodium's darker color. You'll want to use you imagination to create your own unique piece. For example, Black Pearls, Light Grey and Dark Gray Pearls would be a nice addition. If you want to make this piece in gold - using Cream and Bronze pearls would be ideal.

To create the design above you will need the following items

Pewter 16 gauge Jump Rings - (3 packages)

Pewter Oval Medium Jump Rings (2 packages - or more, depending on the number of beads)

Lobster Clasp in Sterling Silver or Base Metal plated (1)

For the Beads... the idea is to get a few different kinds and sizes of beads so that there is some variety.

8mm Swarovski Crystal Beads (3) or use Fire Polish Beads (1 strand)

6mm Swarovski Crystal Bicones in AB ( 2) or use Fire Polished Beads (1 strand)

10mm Czech Glass Pearls (1strand)

8mm Czech Glass Pearls or 8mm Snail Pearls or 8mm Swarovski Pearls (1 strand)

6mm Czech Glass Pearls or 6mm Snail Pearls or 6mm Swarovski Pearls (1strand)

2.5mm Silver Plated Beads (1 Package)

3mm Silver Plated Beads (1 Package)

6mm Silver Plated Beads (1 Package)

5 or 6mm Sterling Silver Mirror Beads (1 package)

5mm Sterling Silver Oxidized Twist Beads (1 Package)

8mm Sterling Silver Seamless Rounds (1 package)

7mm Sterling Silver Stardust Beads (3)

4mm scalloped bead caps (6)

4mm beaded bead caps (5)
